Education Technician

Analyzes and recommends changes to class schedules based on program adjustments, training requests, and changes in training requirements and limitations in capacity. Facilitates technical problems between staff and subject matter experts; analyzes and reviews problems, decides on appropriate subject matter expert or instructional designer to respond to staff and ensures complete and accurate responses are provided to staff. Submits Remedy work orders for Education Service computer issues, including account problems, moves and repairs. Submit Remedy work orders for Education Service related to telephones including new out. Creates and maintains mandatory education assignment profiles on all staff and student job positions and assigns accordingly in the TMS. Works collaboratively with the Training Specialists to assists Services/Course Sponsors with creating presentations for training, as well as in-service training, continuing education and other classes to be delivered on the intranet. The incumbent trains or ensures local TMS administrators, instructors, employees, staff, and supervisors are trained on TMS users interlace. Ensures all training is properly recorded in TMS and in a timely manner. Provides Training Management Support and serves as TMS Domain Manager for various management studies and surveys, provides input to Associate Director for periodic reports, surveys and internal audits and serves as the project officer for various status reports. Veteran and Customer Focus- Prepares reports in final format for Associate Director's review and signature. Serves as Senior TMS Administrator for Education Service at the facility, VISN and Central Veteran and Customer Focus- Prepares reports in final format for Associate Director's review and signature. Serves as Senior TMS Administrator for Education Service at the facility, VISN and Central Office meetings/ conference calls and handles all follow-up actions pertaining to TMS emerging from the meetings. Troubleshoot user issues with passwords, logon, change/reset passwords and unlock accounts for TMS users. Unlock user accounts, resetting user passwords, assigning and recording learning. S/he will create content objects, items & curricula, add items to catalog and assign items and curricula. Develops and maintains the Education Service web pages and assist with education training calendar. Work Schedule:

Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Extensive knowledge with planning, organizing, and delivering educational events. The specialized experience is not limited to new employee orientation or annual mandatory training. You must have experience with computer systems and be familiar with the Talent Management System. You must the ability to work with diverse group of people and have the ability to work collaboratively with facility leadership on special projects. Physical Requirements:
The work is primarily of a sedentary nature. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, etc. between locations within the healthcare system. The employee must be able to operate a phone, computer, and be competent with several different computer systems and software packages, including but not limited to VistA, scheduling packages, CPRS, Microsoft office, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
