The Production Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Cool Planet Alexandria Plant, including compliance with Plant policy and SHE initiatives. Duties will also include optimization of the unit on a daily basis. This position reports to the Site Leader.
The Production Superintendent will perform the duties necessary for day-to-day operations optimization of the plant.
Complies with SHE and plant policy and initiatives.
Makes sure all work is complete is a cost efficient manner.
Makes sure all documentation is completed. (MOC's, Work Order's, Etc.)
Is responsible for completing non-routine work as directed by the plant manager.
Schedule deliveries of raw materials
Schedule shipments of products
Makes adjustments to planning schedule as needed during abnormal and normal operations.
Reads and helps maintain the plant logbook in a concise, clear, complete, and legible manner and communicates with plant management any ideas, concerns or issues.
Happily assists in training new operators in day-to-day job functions and general operations principles.
Helps in analysis of product, by-products.
Make rounds to assure the plant is operating with high efficiency.
Helps maintenance in troubleshooting.
Directs the fire crew if necessary.
Be a part of other plant teams as requested.
Communicate plant concerns to plant manager and is his back up when he is not present.
Signs off on work orders and communicates with plant management of potentially unsafe, inefficient, or inoperable equipment.
Assists in maintenance activities as needed.
Assigns work to his reports fairly and consistently.
Performs employee evaluations as required.
Works overtime as necessary, including vacation relief when necessary.
Works the board and tunes control loops as necessary.
Education/Experience
The candidate must have a minimum of a HS or GED degree, college degree preferred.
15 to 20
years' experience in process plant operations or a process plant technology degree.
Required Skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Basic computer skills in MS Office
Ability and willingness to give direction and give input to supervisors in order to build shift team. Must be a team leader.
Ability and willingness to take direction from Plant Leader
Preferred Knowledge
Must have advanced knowledge of chemical or petrochemical plant operations
Basic chemistry knowledge or willingness to learn
Must be or have familiarity with typical plant operations documentation (procedures, P&IDs;, PFD's, etc.)
Must be or have familiarity with typical plant safety documentation (i.e. MSDS)
Must have a strong background in troubleshooting of process unit operations
Must be fully Competent in DCS operation
Experience with plant analytical equipment and methods is required (i.e. GCs)

Work outdoors in central Louisiana.
Work in a plant environment
Work 12-hour rotating shift if needed.
Lift up to 70-lbs is required.
The ability to be certified to use respirator and supplied air is required.
Over time is required.
