We are a dedicated Family Support Organization that values the power of shared experiences and personal growth.
In this role, you will provide essential support to children and families in Avoyelles, Rapides, and Vernon Parishes, helping them navigate their mental health journeys.
You will report to the Director of Operations and be supervised by the Support Specialist Supervisor.
We are looking for individuals who have personal experience with mental health services and are passionate about helping others.
Responsibilities Provide individual Peer Support Specialist services in the community.
Assist clients in developing treatment goals within the first 30 days of service.
Help clients restore, rehabilitate, and develop social and interpersonal skills.
Identify, enhance, and establish support networks, community awareness, and coping strategies.
Support the development of daily living skills.
Help clients manage the negative effects of psychiatric or emotional symptoms.
Assist clients in identifying and responding to triggers that lead to functional impairments.
Implement Peer Support Plan on an ongoing basis.
Participate in collaborative meetings with Behavioral Health Services staff and other community supports as needed.
Communicate clients' status regularly, including changes in mood or functioning, medical issues, and all crisis and health and safety issues.
Produce effective, clinical documentation of every contact with recipient.
Attend all office trainings and regular clinical supervision sessions.
Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Self-identify as a current or former consumer of mental health services.
Demonstrate a minimum of 6 months in self-directed recovery within the last year or self-identify as a first degree family member.
Ability to use computer interface to complete documentation for billing or other purposes as needed.
