Essential Functions:
oRespond to inquiries about the facility within facility policy timeframes.
oAbility to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
oPerform benefit eligibility to ensure patient benefits are active at the time of admissionCommunicate benefit eligibility to the business office and the patient or significant other.
oCollaborate with other facility medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate recommendations regarding pending referrals.
oCoordinate admission and transfer from referral sources and between levels of care within the facility.
oMaintain knowledge of milieu management.
oCommunicate projected admissions to designated internal representatives promptly.
oEnsure all clinical information from referral sources or patient (including medical comorbidity information) is received, when possible, prior to patient admission.
oSchedule (when applicable) and complete pre-admission assessments, consult with the admitting physician, and communicate disposition recommendations to patient or their family.
oPossess skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation that will result in authorization at the level of care being requested of the payor.
oComplete initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission prior to admission, when possible, and within payor timeframe guidelines.
oAdmit patient in the registration and accounting systemComplete all admission and consent forms with the patient.
oDemonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers alwaysWhen patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaintsRecognize that patient safety is a top priority.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
oPerform other functions and tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
oDegree in nursingoExperience in the managed care pre-certification process, level of care assessments and utilization preferred.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
oCurrent licensure as a Registered Nurse and able to practice in the state of LouisianaoCPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
