Reports To:
Department Manager and Infection Control Nurse Classification:
Non-Exempt QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED desired.
One year housekeeping experience.
OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may encounter chemical hazards.
RESPONSIBILITIES Clean patients' rooms daily.
Clean linen replacement.
Removal of soiled linen and collection.
Provide trash collection and bathroom spot cleaning.
Provide project cleaning and spill clean up.
Make beds daily.
Clean patient equipment.
Dust and wet mopping.
Moves furniture and office equipment.
Cleans offices, waiting rooms, public areas and hospital grounds.
May collect hazardous waste and transport it in a special closed container for sterilization.
Works as part of a team in delivering environmental services.
Remains flexible and able to accept alternate work assignments that meet the needs of the facility and facilitates patient flow.
Comply with facility Standards of Behavior and complete all required education assignments within the designated timeline.
